Upon completion of Assessment and Reporting of Abuse, participants will be able to:
Apply legal and ethical standards, including the concept of reasonable suspicion, when determining the need to report suspected abuse or neglect.
Identify and differentiate types and indicators of abuse while integrating cultural humility and awareness of implicit bias into assessment.
Execute mandated reporting procedures accurately and communicate effectively with families and protective service agencies.
Document observations and clinical reasoning objectively, maintaining professionalism and therapeutic rapport throughout the reporting process.
Implement prevention and advocacy strategies that strengthen families and address systemic contributors to child abuse and neglect.
SWTP CEUs (provider number 2486), is approved as an ACE provider to offer social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program. Regulatory boards are the final authority on courses accepted for continuing education credit. ACE provider approval period: 10/24/2025 - 10/24/2026. Social workers completing this course receive 3.0 Clinical continuing education credits.
POSTTEST REQUIREMENTS A 20-question posttest follows the course materials. A passing score of 80% is required to receive CE credit. Retakes are available if the passing score is not met.
CERTIFICATES To earn CE credit, participants must complete the full course, achieve a passing score of 80% on the posttest, and submit the course evaluation. Certificates of completion are issued automatically upon successful completion.
ASSIGNMENTS No outside assignments are required for this course.
